JT Music Review and Me

This will hopefully be the beginning of a great site. One where I will hopefully share with you my love for music and maybe get some feedback from everyone on the music they love. While doing that I hope we can find some great stuff to listen to. My favorite type of music by far has to be the blues. I have always loved the blues, I just didn’t know it. I listened to a lot of rock bands who started out wanting to sing the blues. Then one day back in the early 90’s I caught the Stevie Ray Vaughan VH1 episode and I knew then that that was what the music was missing. I would then take all of those old sounding songs from Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and others and figure out who the original artist were and listen to the original. (A lot of songs were traditionals and were redone numerous times. It seems that the first to record a particular song would get credit for it)

I hope that you get an awesome site too. It sounds like an interesting topic, focusing on Blues Music. I do not have a lot of exposure to the genre, other than watching the classic movie the blues brothers and being at a few clubs were blues music was being played. it is a great sound. My really good friend actually played the guitar in a band from New Orleans in Vegas. It was sweet to see him play down there.

Nobody does blues better that SRV in my humble opinion. He is amazing! I have some Indie music reviews on my blog. I’m more in to folk than blues, but I still have respect, ya heard?
