I have always been a fan of the surviving Allmon Brother. He spent many years, not only as a fine guitarist in his own right, but perfecting his vocal techniques.

Then of course, the slide guitars that they have penetrating every phase of their music is sort of musical magic. Gregg was the best, but those who followed are certainly geniuses in their own right.

The pieces are obviously always well rehearsed and fully coherently arranged pieces.

The Allman Brothers never lose control of their music.

I love them.

Allman Brothers may be the greatest southern rock band. They have a fine pair of guitar players, Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes. I have a review of Derek Trucks latest album without the Brothers at Rock n Roll View

I love the picture of (I know it's from a Youtube video embedded link), you know who, the guy playing the keyboards!

I don't know if you know this, but that big brown box is called a Leslie Amplifier. There are speakers (bass and treble)inside it that spin around and the dept of that speed can be controlled my the keyboardist. BTW, if your a guitar player looking at this post, plug your axe into one and be prepared to have your mind blow away!
